Contemporary American classical composer Daniel Walker's music has been heard around the world on the concert stage, in film and on television. His film and television credits include feature films for HBO and Showtime and his music has been heard on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, 20/20, Friends, Sex and the City and  The Annual Academy Awards Show.

Film work in Asia includes the score and theme song for the award-winning stylish thriller Curiosity Kills the Cat, and the theme song for The Galaxy Railways, a hit Japanese anime series.

Walker began an artistic collaboration with noted concert pianist Kong Xiangdong in 1999, writing a piano concerto for the musician performed in a gala concert in Lhasa, Tibet. The project established a continuing partnership with Kong through which the pianist has permiered a number of new works by the composer.

Walker's classical ballet, Marco Polo: The Last Mission, was premiered by the Shanghai Ballet Company as part of the opening festival of China's World Expo in China in May 2010.  Commissioned by Pierre Cardin, the historically based work continues to be performed as part of the company's repertoire.

As an arranger and conductor, Walker has worked with Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau, and arranged music for the 2008 Beijing Olympics closing ceremony.

Walker's musical theater piece Qing Cheng / Dark City, a dramatic urban tale set in the last decade of the 20th century in Hong Kong is currently in development.  A cast recording and workshop performance of the piece have been completed under the direction of New York theatrical director Kirsten Sanderson.

Walker teaches composition and film scoring at Shepherd University in Los Angeles, and has served as dean of the music department since March 2012.

• 2006  Scores the film Curiosity Kills the Cat which includes the song Between the Earth and Sky recorded by rising Chinese pop star Jia-Jia.
  

• 2005 Composes music for the 77^th Academy Awards Show under music director Bill Conti, aired on ABC February.  

• 2004 Completes two commissions for piano, orchestra and voices - Xian Fantasy, written for a milestone celebration in the ancient capitol city of Xian and Confucius Capriccio, a three movement contemporary piano concerto based on the Analects of Confucius.

• 2003 Composes and arranges a full program of piano-orchestra music for renowned pianist Kong Xiangdong which was premiered in November 2003.
